The Last of Us

The Last of Us lives up to the hype surrounding it. Naughty Dog, Inc. delivered one of the best games of the year (if not PS3) in most aspects with this game. The Last of Us lives up to the hype surrounding it. Naughty Dog, Inc. delivered one of the best games of the year (if not PS3) in most aspects with this game. The game features excellent graphics in terms of character models and the overall world. Each area is filled with a ton of little details that make the world feel real. The character models and animations are top notch and are hard to be matched on a console. Along with this the voice acting was great and really adds the realism the game tries to present. The combat was pretty fun although it felt forced at some times (my only complaint with the game). It provided a good deal of tension because the lack of supplies is evident so you don't want to waste anything if you don't have to.

The biggest draw of this game was the story. The story is filled with its share of difficult moments and the way the game deals with them is interesting (fades to black with no real time to dwell) and reinforces the "survive" theme. The character progression of Joel and Ellie throughout the story is great to see and is not something many games provide.

This game was great to play and anyone who enjoys playing story based games needs to experience this one.
