Rogue Legacy

Rogue Legacy is a game built around farming gold and getting incremental upgrades. I love to play these kind of games while I am listening to podcasts or something. Rogue Legacy is a game built around farming gold and getting incremental upgrades. I love to play these kind of games while I am listening to podcasts or something. There is not much story to focus on in the game (though there is some story told in the form of diary journals) which makes this easier to do. The interesting thing about the game is that when you die you lose the character you were playing and have to choose your next randomly generated character who is one of your dead character's children. Each of these can be certain classes and then have various traits such as being dyslexic or giant. You then go into the randomly generated castle to try to kill the 4 bosses to unlock the door to the final boss. Along the way you collect blueprints for new armor and weapons, rune stones to grant additional buffs, and gold to build up your castle which provides stats or new classes. The game is pretty difficult but the controls are tight and allow you to take on tough enemies once you learn how to play well. The game is not a technical masterpiece but the art style fits and I enjoy it. I have had a ton of fun playing it and can see myself playing it for a while.
