Crysis 3 finished

The Crysis series have always been known for their great visuals and Crysis 3 does not disappoint. While the graphics are very nice to look at, the best part upgrade over the previous Crysis are the environments. The game takes place in NYC again except it has been overrun by nature. This blends the island/forest environment from Crysis 1 with the city environment from Crysis 2 which provides a pretty unique looking game.

The gameplay is largely similar to Crysis 2 with a slightly different upgrade system. One of the big new gameplay additions is the bow which allows you to fire arrows silently while remaining cloaked. This is fun but it seems to make the game pretty easy because the arrow is a one shot kill except against a few of the bigger enemies.

The story was arguably the weakest part of previous Crysis games but in my opinion Crysis 3's story is much better than the previous games and a pretty good story overall. The game provides some emotional moments at various points and explains a lot about the Ceph that you have been fighting for so long at this point. There are also a ton of bonus story elements that you find around the world similar to the audio diaries in Bioshock games. These help flesh out the overall story through sound bits or reports on Ceph research.

Crysis 3 was a fitting end to the Crysis trilogy. If you have playe dthe previous games and enjoyed them then I would recommend playing this one to see how the story finishes. FYI there is a bonus clip at the end of the credits.
