Persona 3 FES Endurance Run (Part 12)

 Hello, internet. Today, I am going to talk to you about a game called Persona 3 FES that I have been playing for the last 45 hours. Turns out, it's pretty good! If you want to know what happened yesterday, just read on because that's exactly what I'm planning on telling you!

We recently gained the ability to fuse four, five, and six personae together at the same time, which meant we immediately decided to create Black Frost as quickly as possible. Before we could do this though, we had to do a bunch of fusing requests to get King Frost. That took about twenty minutes, but we got Black Frost in the end! He can cast Bufu!

We started off our Social Linking by hanging out with Yukari some more. We are now Rank 5 now, which means we can't hang out with any other girls. On the way to Rank 5 though, we managed to reverse our Social Link by hugging her at an inappropriate moment. It turns out hugs are not the best way to endevery argument. We also S. Linked with Fuuka for the first time. Turns out she's bad at cooking. Anyways, the real reason we did so was because Levi heard that if you get to Rank 2 with her you get to hang out with the dog, which is pretty awesome.

Speaking of Fuuka, we watched a recording in the console room, and apparently her room has a camera in it. We had to watch this twelve-year old walk around in a bikini for about five minutes during this cut-scene and I just plain did not want it on my television. It wascreepy. 

Speaking of things I don't want on my television, we did a lot of boss fighting this time! On the Tartarus boss, we died about four times, before I came up with the brilliant idea of using just two party members, Yukari and us. The other two party members were just kind of wasting our turns getting healed, anyway. That worked out fantastically! We killed it first try! This was also partly due to my favourite item in the whole game, the magic mirror. It reflects one enemy magic attack and it is a fucking godsend for really annoying boss fights.

Speaking of mirrors (God I love my transitions), the magic mirror's counterpart, the attack mirror, helped us in the next battle. This time, it was an ordeal boss. We were missing Shinji and Ken, so we had to include Aigis and Mitsuru in our party. This is the part where I get fed up with the game. We died about five times, mostly because I suck. The time we beat it, Levi wasn't even paying attention because he was too busy playing Chess, so I'll take all credit for the win in the end. This boss' gimmick was that it had a roulette wheel it would drop down every turn, that would do good things for us or bad things against us depending on where it stopped. After the first five times I had memorized the pattern, which allowed us to get a lot of extra damage in on the enemy.

Then, story happened. Unfortunately, I wasn't even there for some of these events due to complications, but I caught myself up afterwards, so it's all good. Anyways, it turns out that this full moon happened to fall on the same day Ken's mother was killed, which is why Shinji and Ken weren't available for the boss fight. Ken found out that it was actually Shinji and Akihiko's team who had killed his mother, and wanted to confront Shinji and kill him with his long-ass spear.

But, Takaya (the leader of Strega) appeared out of nowhere to kill them both. Shinji defended Ken from the bullet though, and at that point the rest of the party appeared forcing Takaya to run away. Shinji proceeded to actually die, which I guess makes it a good thing we didn't level him up very much. Ken gets sad and cries purple tears, while the game congratulates us for doing such a wonderful job killing the boss.

Now, I'm going to mention here that due to time constraints, at this point we both had to leave, with the PS2 still on. I'm saying this so you realize that this was like a half-hour long cut-scene, and also so you realize all the troubles we have to go through to make this whole thing work (turns out, not many). Also, this leads to us having a kind of stretched game time, but I think all the time we spend dying makes up for it. Also, the last bit of this session we had to do over Xbox Live, with me narrating what was going on for Levi.

Obviously, because Shinji is dead, Akihiko gets real sad. He goes to Shinji's memorial, and inexplicably his Persona transforms. I guess this means we don't get to S. Link with him? That would make sense, I guess. Also, when we got back it turns out Ken ran away from the dorm! Apparently, this whole thing has made him a little sad (I wonder why) and running away seemed like the best idea. Next time, I bet we'll try to find him!

So, that's all for today, I guess. This is the most story we've had in a while, which is why it is so unfortunate that we were in a rush due to time constraints. 45 hours in though, and still trucking!
