Persona 3 FES Endurance Run (Part 11)

 It feels like years since we last played Persona 3 FES. In reality, it has only been about a week and a half. The reason for this is that real school started, and that takes up large portions of the day. Obviously, we still have a lot of free time, but complications arise sometimes. Yesterday, we only played about two hours. Things still happened, but I'm sure over the weekend we will be able to play a bit longer, and actually get somewhere in the story.

What we did this time was die, a lot. This boss we're fighting is really hard, and no matter what we do we end up dead at some point. I think we tried about six times before we gave up and started S. Linking again. We'll obviously have to come back to that at some point, but I think we'll also have to grind a bit until then. It turns out Shinji is actually pretty good, so we might exchange him for Aigis. I really like Aigis though, mainly because of the way she jumps in the air and shoots her guns at bitches. Speaking of bitches, I tend to call a lot of the things in this game "Bitch", which leads to a whole lot of confusion on Levi's part. Also, I have a tendency to just waste a turn quickly while listening to him tell me how to do it properly. Come to think of it, it's pretty much exclusively my fault we die so much. Huh.

We S. Linked also! We hung out with Yukari again, which made us a Rank 3. The game is already saying we're "intimate" with her, which seems a bit quick, but I'm not complaining! We got to Rank 10 with Gourmet King, and he came to terms with the fact that he needed to be himself instead of trying to out-do his brother. Life lessons here folks! He also gave us a "Gourmet License", or "Licence to Gourmet" as I like to call it, which let's us be the James Bond of food. More like James Fondue!

There is a third S. Link that I'm about to devote a whole paragraph to, because I have things to say about it. The MMO girl S. Link is starting to become my favourite in the game. It turns out the girl we've been playing an MMO with for weeks is actually a teacher in our school who has the hots for us! She doesn't know that we (person she's talking to) is also the person she's talking about, which makes it awesome! Hopefully, for Rank 10 we meet her at school and bone. Anyways, another reason I want to talk about this Social Link is because it really showcases the fact that the people who designed the menu for this game have no idea what the hell they are doing. On days without school, you can walk up to your computer to either play the MMO (and S. Link) or Study for school. What happens when you press X on the computer is that the game pops up a screen saying, "You can S. Link with MMO girl today! Since you have this Persona, you will get along well!". Then, it brings up a menu with a series of options, where the first one is Study. Why they would put Study as the first option after talking about the S.Link is just baffling to me.

Anyways, enough with that boring tangent and on to an amusing quote which I though was amusing! At one point, I accidentally chose the wrong option in a menu, leading to a day being wasted improving a skill we had already maxed out. The next time we came to that option, Levi said, "Hey, remember that time you pressed X here?" and I realized that you could literally say that about every part of this game. I just thought it was kind of funny.

So, that''s about it. Not a very interesting episode, but hopefully next time will be better! We also hoped to play again during the week, but Halo: Reach kind of ruined that. We're around the 40-hour mark, and I just remembered that we have to play through the Answer as well, which means we still have a lot of Persona 3 FES ahead of us.
