My Persona 3 FES Endurance Run (Part 7)

 We are now about 27 hours into the game, with yesterday being probably our shortest session yet. The reason for this is, halfway through, we got distracted and decided to watch Robots because Robots is cool. That doesn't mean nothing happened yesterday though! Because there were some things that happened!

We have officially welcomed Robot-Lady (Aigis) into our party. Turns out, she's pretty good. She's about four levels higher than us, and specializes in Physicality. The best part about her is that boss's physical attacks only do like ten damage to her, which is SO HELPFUL. The only problem is her annoying voice. I understand that she is a robot-lady with no vocal chords, but damn! It's starting to get on my nerves, and she's only been in our party for one block of Tartarus.

Speaking of annoying voices, Fuuka's is starting to grate a bit too. She sounds almost as robotic as Robot-Lady, except without the excuse of BEING A ROBOT. She's just poorly voice acted. 

Before I talk about our fighting (because there was a decent amount of it), I feel I should first talk about some S. Linking. We got to rank 10 with Seven-Year Old Girl, and now she has moved out of town. Before she left though, she totally proposed. Let me tell you, having a seven-year old girl propose to you is kind of awkward. Hopefully she realizes we were lying about marrying her before she becomes legal.

We got to rank 9 with Yuko but haven't quite got to ten yet. And the gift mechanic is still annoying me, as it is asking me to give her a gift every time we hang out with her. We also hung out with Gourmet King a bit more, and he has some weird shit going on. This middle-aged man is accusing him of trying to force his kid into a cult, and nothing makes any sense. I just want to hang out and eat! 

We also started a new S. Link yesterday. With Tanaka. The guy who is on the shopping channel in both this game and Persona 4. It's awesome! We had to pay him like 40,000 yens to get him to hang out, and then he made fun of us for being so stupid with our money. Essentially, when we hang out we just listen to him talk about all the different ways he screws customers over. It's pretty funny.

Now is the part about fighting! We managed to get to the end of the third block of Tartarus, we're now around floor 90 or so. That's a lot of floors. Using my amazing math, I estimate there will be about 1,234,567 floors in this god-forsaken tower. We fought a giant tower boss, and it wasn't too bad.

We had another full-moon event as well. We traveled to an abandoned army base to find a shadow, and ended up getting locked in by the pale-looking man and Co. He's they guy who shot up a kid at the end of Part 5. He hangs out with this suitcase-carrying guy called Jin, and a girl with red hair and a dress. He told us that he likes the dark hour because it gives him a chance to kill things with his magic persona powers. So, apparently, we're not the only Persona team in this town. Sadly, this town is plenty big enough for both us.

So, we then had to go through the base to find the boss. We found ourselves in a hallway sloping down with a few smaller shadows in it. Because of the slope, and the terrible draw distance (it wasn't a very large area, either) we (I) ended up screwing up and not getting advantage. So, this regular-ass shadow killed us one hit. Great.

We traveled back in, and made it to the actual boss this time. It was a tank. These are the times I wish we had Chie here. It turns out it's actually two personae that can combine (to make a tank) and separate (to make two ridiculous-looking things). We got them both to almost zero health, and then Robot-Lady decided to finish one off instead of killing them both at the same time. As you may have guessed, this led to the other reviving it with FULL HEALTH. Luckily, this wasn't actually too bad, because they combined right after, allowing us to avoid killing the second one and having them both at full health again. At the very end, we had them both at almost zero health. This time, we had two turns left, meaning Robot-Lady couldn't single-handedly screw everything up.

A couple of days after that, Fuuka found a shadow out in the real world again! This is only supposed to happen during a full moon, so everyone was crazy surprised! It turns out is was just a regular shadow, and so we didn't have a third boss fight. Akihiko went to check it out, and found out that some crazy dog had fought it and almost died. This was a dog that had showed up at some point previously but we had totally not paid any heed to it. Turns out we ignored this game's excellent foreshadowing! I feel bad now.

Once it got back from the vet, Mitsuru strapped a gun to it's collar and told us to take it to Tartarus. This is messed up in so many ways. Firstly, YOU JUST STRAPPED A GUN TO A DOG! How does the dog even work the gun? With it's mouth or something? Secondly, how does a dog summon a Persona? They don't have human emotions like us humans. Except, robots don't have emotions either, so this whole things is messed up. Thirdly, how did it evoke it's persona to fight a shadow? Did it pick up an "evoker" (read: gun) from the floor or something? These are not rhetorical, I want all these questions answered. God, I hope we don't have to S. Link with a dog.

Wait a second, no, I totally hope we do.
