The Vagaries of Trailer Viewing, (your results may vary):

by ahoodedfigure

Though I haven't had all of these reactions exactly, it's hard to say trailers incite fanatical devotion: Wow, that trailer was beautiful! I'm excited for this game! That trailer was beautiful. Even though I know it has little to nothing to do with the game, I get that they're trying to get me excited about the game's themes, and it's working! Beautiful! I'm still waiting for actual game footag...

Though I haven't had all of these reactions exactly, it's hard to say trailers incite fanatical devotion:

  • Wow, that trailer was beautiful!  I'm excited for this game!
  • That trailer was beautiful. Even though I know it has little to nothing to do with the game, I get that they're trying to get me excited about the game's themes, and it's working!
  • Beautiful!  I'm still waiting for actual game footage, though.
  • OK, but what does this have to do with the game?
  • I'm starting to resent all these trailers that have nothing to do with the game they're advertising.
  • I wonder how much money they spent on this thing. Couldn't they have pumped that money into stuff that would make the game better?
  • Oh, look. They're using that musical cue from the movie that made me sad, even though I barely know the characters on screen right now.  It's amazing how much mileage you can get out of music.
  • Let's see if we can get through this trailer without that dragon roaring...  nope.
  • How many trailers is this, now? Are they making a game or laundering money, here?
  • Yeeeaaarrrghh!

How are the trailers hitting you this time around?
