The distortion world was such a lame fart. Can’t even put strange Pokemong in there? What am I supposed to feel?
Having the joke ending accessible for the first playthrough is unforgivable. and the stupidest twist in the series I’m sorry
Goofy minigames and normal controls this is the best of the fighting game trilogy. I wish Unleashed wasn’t such a giant step back but theres so much potential in these games. Plus playable Spacegodzilla is everything I ever wanted.
I wanted to like it so much. It was a present. It was rare and expensive. But you can’t give me characters and rip them away for chapters in a game like this. Micaiah’s whole team is terrible, but I’d rather see their journey than wander around.
One of the culprits decided to tell Apollo he would never accept him. And I felt that. I will never accept you, Apollo. Can’t even be the star of your own game. Gary Sue powers of reading poker tells instead of the superior magatama. go away Apollo
A cute idea but unforgiving execution. Like real capitalism
I’ll give it this the voice cast gave it all to make it the same level of melodrama as the showz shame the side stuff was weak but I think its still a fun accompaniment to the show
I love this game and it’s one of the most beautiful stories on the system but boy its grindy. Emulating fast forward spam made it bearable.
A near perfect arcade baseball game in contrast to my favorite sim MVP 2005 but its fielder assignments are unforgivable. Flyballs and bunts might as well be a crapshoot. They give you a button to change fielders but also change them automatically. So you could switch to the right one and switch back immediately several times
I hate to say it but turning this into a double battle with limited capturable Pokemon make this a very slow game
The standard in my opinion, mostly because its portable and 9 is too big. The characters (normally) have finite time to grind and support. My favorite thing with these characters is they all seem to have their own stories and lives, slowly revealed as they talk and support woth different characters. Having all characters pair with each other has hurt it a lot in the other handheld games, and the limited classes help…
I like this game a lot but the main campaign is sucha small part of the whole package its hard to say if I got the whole package
Duller and uglier than MP 4. Donkey Kong curiously unplayable too. Its weird, and the capsule system slowa the game down to a crawl imo
The perfect starfighting game with barely movable action figure onfoot sections. Baffling choices
The best water graphics in video games. And I believe has that great hockey and volleyball minigame room?
This is my goldeneye. Better weapons better warfare and maps. Turrets and remote control bombs
I remember enjoying the combat but it was jarring there was no story or congratulations screens in the Top Gun game
Memorable designs for the ghosts I love this game so much. Not perfect but the ghost collecting is a blast and getting perfect hunts for better frames is a fun challenge to return to
Tennis RPG that happens to have some Mario. You get an endless parade of anime opponents and have to improve stats by practicing and drills, just like real tennis. I had a 20 minute rally in this game and a 90 Minute match. It was the most difficult boss fight I’ve ever faced because I did not recall my most recent lesson and we were exactly evenly matched. “ I love telling people this.
My only knock is the final boss requires collecting all supposedly optional collectables as if the normal ending is satisfactory. Other than that perfect game. Why won’t they bring the combo mechanic back?
What if a game improves and added to every element of its predecessor, but in all the wrong ways? Banjo Tooie basically took your character and moveset from game one and tripled them. They increased collectables and back tracking. It gave you mini games FPS sections and several unique transformations and traversal types. Is it awesome? Yes. Is it too much? Also yes. I had the Prima strategy guide and couldn’t keep…
I don’t care that assets are reused. The gameplay changed and this is the first time a space ever felt lived in to me. But the crowning achievement of this game was showing you all the terrors in this doomed town and motivating you to help them out after seeing them fail over and over again. It became worn territory in other media but I never felt it as much as here. Failing the mask quest and dooming an NPC is a…
The quintessential Mario Party. You have goofy outfits, fun maps, and one of the best soundtracks on the system. I stand by that. DK is so off model its cute
Where do I begin? The mysticism of a whole new land of Pokemon, with working days of the week and a working clock. Pokemon has never felt as lived in as this game; visit this shop on Tuesdays, wait for your hiker friend to tip you off on a rare Pokemon swarm. And finally a return to the old map culminating in a boss fight with your first game self? This game is a masterpiece and it is a tragedy internal batteries…
The perfect arcade hockey experience and I won’t hear anything else.
I had a legitimate panic attack when I learned Pikachu wouldn’t listen to me because my voice was changing from puberty. I became aware of mortality and the impermanence of everything and everyone. Also the Pokemon are off-model and look bad.
Actually I beat this game this year and enjoyed my time with it. It’s a short puzzle game where lives are hard to come by so you have to go as far as you can before getting a game over. Like how games used to be. The mechanic is Flick must pick up powerups to his seeds and plant them so they can be upgraded platforms, bouncepads, shields, or berry throws. It’s actually pretty simple. The big downside is that he does…
This game’s charming as all hell but has nothing to do with Godzilla. It’s a puzzle game where big G is chibi and chased by other chibi monsters as he tries to obtain his goal of breaking every boulder in the level. Monsters charge heedlessly at him and slowly drain damage if they touch you. You defeat them with a big cartoon fist. This game is nonsense but it was my very first video game and I love it for that.
It’s amazing how much hearing Star Wars music and sound effects elevate the experience. Rogue Squadron is clumsy in places even compared to say Shadow of the Empire but the different ship types and mission variety give it so much more legs. i will say I have been unable to obtain gold on the first level because I don’t think there are enough enemies to shoot down. I wipe the map clean but still end up two short. I…
I’m a Mario Party fan but the prevalence of 1P games, repeatable minigame algorithm and plain maps make this a skip
My first platformer. Obtuse, messy, but simple enough of a concept where I found eventually beating it rewarding. There are probably better uses of the property but I like this one.
A surprisingly robust puzzle game on gameboy that is offbeat and interesting in its own personality unique in Nintendo. He won’t die but rather resets you to checkpoints, which is a simpler less frustrating way of making a stage platformer. I liked it a lot even though the branching paths were obtuse
World class soundtrack, and a mostly tight experience with fun levels and characters. Knocked off a point because some of the platforming is unnecessarily slippery and is much more prevalent in the second half.
An excellent if unfortunately limited way to play the trading card game. Fun to make decks and fun for game exclusive cards with random effects. I should have known I’d like deck builders later!
When people say Gamer Rage I think back to when I was 8, it was Christmas Day and my family was over. I had the lead in the hovercraft during the final lap Of Boulder Canyon until the log physics flung me all the way backwards to last. The dam burst and I screamed a noise I never made before or since. Mom said at that moment she thought getting me games was a mistake. I didn’t pick up the game again for 28 years. I…
It takes a lot in this era to make a 1-2 hour game worth it. First: It should be too hard for a 7 year old. 2nd it should feel fun but filter you a few times before the big showdown on venom. 3rd it needs memorable voice acting so at the very least the cast sticks in your head every run. Starfox 64 was all of these things for me, and make it a difficult formula to recreate, as many times as they try. Nearly every…
A great time with the bros it is quite the stepping stone for those that came after. It was nice seeing these characters interact and ostensibly playing like they would in their home games, though that didn’t always happen. A great blueprint to future titles
It is one of my favorite games ever but so many of the translation errors and unexplained missable objects age the game pretty poorly. A lot of systems are not explained well and I think any game requiring guides for that stuff rely on a crutch too much. It’s hard to recommend even if it gives context to the remakes but for any JRPG fan its worth recommending.
