Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth2024

2.5 out of 5 stars

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is not simply a long game, it is a deep game, and by that, I mean the game does not take shortcuts on anything. This is not a bloated game, filled with activities for the sake of activities. It provides countless activities, but each one has an individualized story or is literally a game within a game. Xenosaga: Episode II - Jenseits von Gut und Böse2004

2.5 out of 5 stars

Xenosaga II is the apitamy of the Xeno series - overly ambitious for its own good. The cutscenes want to do more than the animation can do. The game tries to take turn based combat in a new direction, but probably just makes it more complex than it needs to be. An interesting time capsule of what where JRPGs were in the dawn of 3d era.

The Roottrees are Dead2025

2.5 out of 5 stars

Another great spin on the deduction game genre. Played this game with the wife on the couch. She really liked it and it was a great social game.

2.5 out of 5 stars

Played after it made its oversized impact, so was able to appreciate the elements the helped define a genre. The two things that somewhat dragged the game down for me a peg was the lack of character ramp up making it very hard to put down the game for any amount of time without feeling like you are backsliding in your progress.

Red Dead Redemption II2018

5 out of 5 stars

Really is a masterpiece. It is nowhere near a perfect game, in fact it has numerous flaws, which I could discuss (notoriously the pacing of the Epilogues). However, to dwell on problems misses the astounding achievement of RDR2. While I don't agree with every decision made in the game, it is clear that everything was done deliberately and in service to the art of the game. I will note that when I first started this…
