Fun, interesting distraction, rarely works

I have more fun explaining this game to my parents and less tech savvy friends than I actually do playing it.  I pull up a map of my home town, plop a base right onto of my house, and show everyone how I'm defending our streets from the zombie hoard.  It's pretty cool that the enemies and vehicles use actual road data to move about but once the initial flash wears off there's not much too it.  The whole point of the game is to build up and detonate a Sunburst attack that racks up massive XP and cash.  Only problem is that this function, as well as placing new bases, requires contacting a server some where on there on the web.  This server is NEVER online.  Whenever this server is down the game does not "play itself" as it should (gaining items, xp, cash while you're doing other things).  For the past month or so the game has been me simply launching the application, checking to see if the server is up so i can place more bases or detonate a Sunburst (gotta get to level 50!).  Other than that, Project Sunburst is fairly shallow.  And what's up with the advertising of a Facebook game in Project Sunburst's achievements?  Tacky tacky tacky.
