Really simple and easy game that could of been a lot more. The main story involves you killing people in the exact same fashion. Go to a town, get up high to locate landmarks, report to the Assassin's Bureau, get information on where and when you can strike your target, and finally, executing the kill. There are a few things thrown in for a mix but that's basically the formula for Assassin's creed.
The story, on the other hand, was very interesting but I kind of expected what happens to happen. And thanks to the counterattack skill, the end fight is rediculously easy. Just wait for him to get knocked over and then quickly switch to the hidden blade for a swift kill.
Another thing that bothered me about the game was the unbalanced nature of the counterattack skill. You can fend off seemingly endless swarms of enemies with skill and take no damage.
Graphically it was pretty good for a next gen game. There were a few things that I noticed specifically on my PS3 version that my friends didn't on their 360 versions. My framerate would drop sometimes. Not a lot, but it was noticeable. Also, I found that I fell through the world a lot. A lot! I was running after the evil doctor (forget his name) when he tripped and i pulled out my hidden blade and pounced on him. Instead of impaling him, I went through the ground and fell through the world endlessly. Another thing that occurred on my PS3 but not on my friend's 360s was that the game froze on a regular basis. It wouldn't freeze as in stop running, it would not allow me to complete a quest objective, like interrogate someone or lock onto my assassination target.
I could nit pick some more but all in all it's a game worthy of a rental.
Eagerly awaiting the sequel.
