The host of characters are amazing, with the Heavy and Tycho being my favorite. Each one has a good deal of dialog to keep the game feeling fresh and funny. They will randomly strike up conversation with each other during the game, such as Sam and Tycho talking about their favorite way to kill the undead or Heavy thinking Tycho is a Blu spy. The facial animations on the characters are spectacular, with the exception of Strongbad who really can't do any facial emotions like the other characters can. This leads to a believable illusion that these characters are just some buddies hanging out and playing poker.
While this all adds up to really interesting dialog, what about the game? Well i can tell you it's Texas Hold'em. Nothing really special about it. You play with the standard rules of Texas Hold'em with a raising blind bet. Your goal is to knock each character out of the game by taking all their money. Nothing too interesting here, but their are unlockables such as new tables, new decks of cards, and even prizes from the characters if you beat them that can be used in Team Fortress 2.
If your a fan of poker, you'll be happy with this game, if you don't, the dialog is well worth the 5$ entrance fee to play this game. Some people i talked to before writing this simply bought it to get the TF2 items out of it. What ever your reason is, this game will not disappoint. I leave this game feeling like Telltell Games should make another game with these four characters, or four new ones, and put them in a non-poker game setting like a RPG or even n a point-and-click game. Until that dream day comes, I will spend a good deal of my time playing Poker Night at The Inventory.
