A unique but flawed game

Dark Sector isn't a great game, but it's not a bad game either.  Its one of those games that's worth picking up if it's cheap.  The game relies on the single mechanic of throwing a glaive.  The game introduces a few unique abilities along the way, but personally, I was always left wanting for more cool powers and abilities.  Using the guns felt necessary at points, and this annoyed me, because I really was hoping the glaive could be the end-all weapon in the game.  Despite the glaive being the main gimmick in the game, it gets a little dull after awhile.  The abilitiy to attach an element such as ice, fire, or electricity to the glaive temporarily was a nice touch, but more could have been done with it.  Dark Sector isn't worth $60, but you can probably find it for $15 now adays, and that's not a bad price point for me.
