It's not just that this is an unnecessary sequel to a game that I honestly quite like. It's not that it disregards any interesting theme that the original has and just delivers the most generic jrpg plot. It's not that the introduction of the characters from the original game feel quite forced. Most of the reason why this game doesn't work is its ludic structure: a weird mix of jrpgs and rts void of any whatsoever strategic thinking, and generally very awkward to play.
