Since 2014 I've been documenting every time I play a game and what I thought about it during that session. You can see all the previous lists here.
A session can be anywhere from a few minutes to many hours. Sessions that last longer than one block of time (illustrated below) are counted for each block individually. Sessions that cross over a block (like from 2:30 to 4) count towards the one that more time was spent in.
This will be unedited and likely full of typos and misspellings. The descriptions of my sessions may include story spoilers. Any spoilers will NOT be marked.
Here's the break down of the time of day:

~~~~~~ Moonlaw ~~~~~~ Started: 1/1. Late Evening. PC Itch. Negative This is a free metroidvania and probably the person's first released game, but it plays so poorly and is so frustrating that I couldn't stand playing it for more than like 15 minutes. ~~~ ~~~~~~ Midnight Manor ~~~~~~ Played: 1/1. Late Evening. PC Itch. Enjoyed. This game is nifty. There's not much too it mechanically but there's some it has some ideas and apparently there are multiple endings and tons of secrets. I might play through it again some time. ~~~ Played: 1/2. Early Morning. Tried to get all the secrets and stuff. Found 6 of the 7 pumpkins but could only get 5 of them. I don't know how to get to the top of the house at the very beginning. I couldn't take space jump out of the last area either. Cool game. I don't think I'll play it again though. ~~~ ~~~~~~ BulletGarden ~~~~~~ Played: 1/30. Early Evening. PC Steam. What? It's a shmup that is completely inscrutable. Partially due to the translation being really awkward (in a sort of charming way). Partially because you can only view the tutorial once it seems and it just throws everything at you. Seems cool though. I don't think I'll play it again. ~~~ ~~~~~~ UFOTOFU: HEX ~~~~~~ Played: 1/31. Early Evening. Mobile. Neutral. I was looking for a new mobile game and this one just came out so I thought I'd give it a try. It's OK. I don't know how I feel about it, but I'll probably play a bit more of it. ~~~ Played: 2/4. Afternoon. Wish I liked this game more... ~~~ ~~~~~~ WitchCraft TD ~~~~~~ Played: 9/11. Afternoon. PC Browser. Enjoyed. ~~~ Played: 9/11. Early Evening. ~~~ Played: 9/11. Evening. Saw this game on itch and played it for about 6 to 7 hours. ~~~ Played: 9/12. Early Evening. Found out that you can play this in the browser on your phone. It's not perfect, but it's good enough. RIP my time doing anything else. ~~~ Played: 9/12. Early Evening. ~~~ Played: 9/12. Late Evening. ~~~ Played: 9/13. Morning. ~~~ Played: 9/13. Late Morning. ~~~ Played: 9/13. Late Morning. ~~~ Played: 9/13. Afternoon. ~~~ Played: 9/13. Afternoon. ~~~ Played: 9/13. Early Evening. ~~~ Played: 9/14. Midnight. ~~~ Played: 9/14. Midnight. ~~~ Played: 9/14. Late Morning. ~~~ Played: 9/14. Afternoon. ~~~ Played: 9/15. Morning. ~~~ Played: 9/15. Late Morning. ~~~ Played: 9/15. Afternoon. ~~~ Played: 9/16. Afternoon. ~~~ Played: 9/20. Early Evening. I'm at the point where I can beat this game pretty easily without losing any health. It's a great proof of concept. I'd love to see it expanded on. ~~~ Played: 9/21. Late Morning. ~~~ Played: 9/22. Afternoon. ~~~
Played: 1/2. Early Morning. PC Steam. This game controls really weird and doesn't seem to work with my PS4 controller right. It doesn't explain itself either. So I refunded it. Maybe there's a cool game in there, but I'm not going to spend the headache to find out. ~~~
Started: 1/3. Early Morning. PC Steam. Neutral. This game seems like an OK 2D souls-like. It's a bit slow but done so intentionally and that's kinda cool. I do have an issue with enemies overlapping and getting hit that way, especially when the game is very dark. You're not very survivable either. I don't know if I'll keep at it to be honest. But apparently the game is only about 6~8 hours long so perhaps I will. ~~~ Played: 1/4. Midnight. Enjoyed. ~~~ Played: 1/4. Early Morning. Beat two bosses and am now exploring downwards. This game kind has its own thing going for it. It doesn't feel great compared to other games, but it's designed with the way it feels and outside of some wonkiness it's pretty good? The wall jump ability is an example of that. It feels very hacked together and buggy, but it works well enough. ~~~ Played: 1/4. Late Morning. Neutral. This game is mostly alright. It's fine. I don't know. I got double jump and can explore a lot of places, but the enemies in the section I found kinda suck. The area is vertically orientated and I don't really have anything that attacks upward. It kinda sucks. ~~~ Played: 1/5. Midnight. Mixed. Got the teleport ability and stuff. This game has largely devolved into "go here do this" style of metroidvania which is the least interesting form and that's unfortunate but probably accounts for it's short play time. It does showcase this game's very narrow sequence. Right now I'm dealing with an area that is very vertical and the double jump + teleport is not great. Apparently I'll be able to fly after this and that will open up much of the game. ~~~
Started: 1/8. Early Morning. PC Steam. Enjoyed. ~~~ Played: 1/8. Morning. So far this game is an interesting combination of things I've seen in a lot of metroidvanias. It's definitely drawing some inspiration from La Mulana in terms of feel though it's a lot less obtuse so far. I've seen other games do the 3 character thing but not quite as well as this game seems to. One character is good at exploring/transversal, another has abilities that open certain doors, and the last one seems to be good for bosses mostly. I'm not really a fan of the healing mechanic. Especially since it took me too long to realize that's what the candles are for. I don't think it'll matter too much though, since currency gain seems pretty exponential and you can just grind it out. Which I might end up doing because that's the kinda of person I am. ~~~ Played: 1/8. Late Morning. Yeah, this game is rad as hell. I'm vibing with the health/death mechanic a bit more now that I can get the enemies to drop health orbs. Though it's super rare. One thing that's odd to me is that I'm getting abilities for the knight and wizard, but none for the rogue and while I initially liked playing her the most, I'm finding that, outside of when I need to use her, I'm not using her at all. That's a shame. I guess she is meant to be the backtracking character where the wizard is meant to be the explorer. I also got a dash ability for the knight, but I don't really find it very useful. You're not immune while using it and it doesn't give you any momentum. I guess it's just meant to use escape and dodge. ~~~ Played: 1/9. Morning. ~~~ Played: 1/9. Late Morning. Unlocked a fourth character and was spoiled on a fifth when I looked up some stuff. I made a lot of progress through the tower too, but am definitely hitting some weird walls. The characters have come into their own and, outside of the new one, I'm using them all for specific things. Though the mage is still definitely the best of the initial three. ~~~ Played: 1/9. Afternoon. ~~~ Played: 1/9. Early Evening. Ok, so I beat it with the normal ending, but then I went back and got 100% of the bestiary, map, and items. Now I'm grinding to get 100% of the upgrades, which I'm not sure if it's necessary, but I might as well. I just have Bram and Zeek left. The HP upgrades get WAY to expensive. I hope this isn't necessary but who knows. ~~~ Finished: 1/10. Early Evening. Beat the game with the true ending. I did grind to get all the shop upgrades and looking at the achievement it seems like that was not necessary for the true ending. I tried the other three modes but I don't think I'll play through them. They all kinda want you to have the low amount of hits and other sorts of challenges that I'm not interested in. If they were more like victory laps where you're running through the game super powered, I'd be interested. But it's a great game regardless. I wish there was a randomizer. ~~~
Started: 1/22. Early Evening. PC Steam. Neutral. This game is alright. It reminds me a lot of types of metroidvanias that were popular as browser game. You basically go around a big area collecting dodads and abilities. It has a really nice art style and good music, but for whatever reason I'm not really clicking with it yet. Like, it's fine, it's well made, the character is cute and all, but I don't know. It's not really grabbing me like I thought it might. ~~~ Played: 1/22. Evening. Mixed ~~~ Played: 1/22. Late Evening. The more I play this game the more I think it's not that great. It's fine, but the level design is annoying. It has the worst sort of metroidvania level design. You find your way to progress only unlock something on the other side of the map. Then when you go there you get an item that brings you back to where you just came from. It's all busy work. Moving around in this game is annoying to since you don't jump at a variable height. Your jump height is your jump height no matter how long you hold the button. The freeze gun mechanics is interesting but I think it would be more fun in a game that controlled better. ~~~ Finished: 1/23. Early Evening. Finished the main ending. Took under 6 hours. Overall I'm pretty mixed on it. It's fine. I ended with 97% though so I might go back and get the stuff I missed. ~~~ Played: 1/23. Evening. Tried to get 100% since I was at 97%. I was able to get up to 99% but am missing two of the big coins and I have no way of knowing which two they are. I am not enjoying playing this game so I am not going to hunt those down. ~~~
Started: 1/23. Late Evening. PC Emulator. Neutral. I've been watching the first tournament of the randomizer and decided to play through it again. At least for a little bit. I don't know if I'll play through the whole thing. My thoughts on this game have not really changed in the the past 20 years. I don't like the narrative bits or the railroading, but I do like the aesthetic. I also like how much the terrain differs. It's not just long flat hallways. I think the initial narrative set up is really good, but the stuff with Adam sucks. ~~~ Played: 1/29. Early Evening. Beat the hoppy boss and got high jump. I continue to be neutral on this game. I don't think it feels particularly good to play but I do like the art (outside of the backgrounds, but those weren't really meant to be seen on a large screen). ~~~ Played: 1/30. Afternoon. Negative. I got to the first cyborg spider boss that folks called "Box" and I hated this boss when I first played the game 20 years ago and I think I hate it more now. What a terrible boss. I don't know how the speedrunners make it seem so easy. Like you just got super missiles and are ready to fuck shit up and then they throw a boss at you that is completely invincible save for a tiny area that also is super agile and constantly moving. So shots that look like they should connect just bounce off. For this boss to appear at this point in the way, I just, I don't know what the devs were thinking. ~~~
Played: 1/24. Afternoon. Mobile. Enjoyed. This is a favorite mobile game of mine and I had run through all the data on my phone so I couldn't do any internet stuff at work. So I decided to play this and you know what I actually solved a good chunk of puzzles I was stuck on. ~~~ Played: 1/24. Afternoon. ~~~ Played: 1/24. Afternoon. ~~~ Played: 1/24. Early Evening. ~~~ Played: 1/24. Early Evening. ~~~ Played: 1/25. Afternoon. ~~~ Played: 1/25. Early Evening. ~~~ Played: 2/4. Early Evening. ~~~
Played: 1/27. Evening. PC Steam. Mixed. This game doesn't quite have enough going on for it to be interesting. It relied too much on RNG and doesn't have enough actual strategy. To be honest if it was just the heroes and no dice rolling I think it might be a better game? I'll probably play it a few more times, but so far I'm not impressed. ~~~
Started: 2/5. Afternoon. PC Steam. Neutral. This game seems cool though there's something kinda janky about it that I can't quite place. It also seems to have a lot of repetitive tutorialization of everything. I don't know. I'm also not sure if the character choice at the start or any other choices matters much. The combat is fun, but I think I need to figure out a better button layout of my own. Something isn't quite jiving with me about it. ~~~ Played: 2/5. Early Evening. Mixed. I just don't really understand this game's mechanics? Like the magic system makes absolutely no sense to me. I'm using the lightning spell and have full magic, but pressing the "use magic" button doesn't do anything in combat. Also the game is so dark and the colors so muted that I can't tell what's happening half the time. It doesn't help that the text is largely dark gray on black. ~~~
