Overview
"Simple", also known as "Simple Series", refers to multiple series of budget-priced Japanese games that, while developed by numerous separate companies, were all published by D3 Publisher. Generally, the price of the game was in line with what is stated on the cover (for example, the "Simple 1500" series of games were originally released close to 1500¥), although later titles scrapped this idea.
Each game name is prefaced with "THE" and is generally known for their simplistic themes and low quality. While originally focused on "table games" (such as mahjong, go, and shogi), the series received numerous games spanning numerous genres. Some of these games received sequels, with some established outside of the "Simple" series (such as the Earth Defense Force (Franchise) and Oneechanbara series). Additionally, the series received some crossovers with its games and established contuities, with several games featuring the series's idol mascot Riho Futaba (Character).
Many of the games in the series were released outside of Japan by other budget-focused publishers (such as Agetec, Midas Interactive Entertainment, and 505 GameStreet), with some released by D3's international subsidiaries. These versions go by different names, eschewing the "Simple" branding altogether.
The series also received budget re-releases of well-established games, such as Simple 1500 Series Vol. 68: The RC Car - RC de GO! and Simple 1500 Series Vol. 93: The Puzzle Bobble - Puzzle Bobble 4.

Simple 2000 DC Series
The Dreamcast received four titles in the series, making up the "Simple 2000 DC Series".
An example full game name would be Simple 2000 DC Series Vol. 1: The Renai Adventure - Bittersweet Fools.

Simple Series G4U
Only one game was originally released as part of the "G4U" series for the PlayStation 4, which was released both a retail and downloadable forms. In addition, there was a cheaper, but much more limited, downloadable version under "@Simple DL Series G4U".
The full game name is Simple Series G4U Vol. 1: The Mahjong, with the limited downloadable name being @Simple DL Series G4U Vol. 1: The Mahjong.
Later, the series was repurposed for the PS4 and PS5 ports of some games from the Simple Series for Nintendo Switch (with no "@Simple DL Series G4U" equivalent):
These two games also received releases outside of Japan without their Simple Series branding, with the North American version released for the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One and the European version released for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
