Neither.

If you have not already, maybe try Tales of Arise. It has better pacing and more manageable length.

I like Tales of Arise, but it's just not on the same level as P5 and XC3. You can finish it in half the time though; that is true.

Sounds like you should try XC3.

Persona 5 Royal does smooth out some of the rough edges on the P5 gameplay, but it doesn't change the fact that it still encourages you to get through the dungeons in as few sessions as possible, which typically means extended periods of time when you're just in the dungeon.

It's really hard in my opinion to define what a "B-Game" truly is, but at least in my opinion, it isn't something defined by budget, marketing, or pricing. Personally, I think it's more about two things - the ambitions of the game and the degree of proficiency displayed in executing on that vision. The specific recipe for creating a B-Game tends to be having AAA ambition but lacking the resources to truly pull it off - basically something that ends up feeling like an imitation of a AAA game.

I really don't think it's fair to lump Hi-Fi Rush into that category. They had a very directed focus and vision for the game, the discipline to stick to that vision, and they executed on everything extremely well. While it's often used with some degree of affection, the "B-Game" label does carry pejorative connotations, and I don't think that anything about the efforts of Tango Gameworks should be diminished by putting it under that sort of banner.

I played a ton of Goldeneye back in the day on the N64, and it's definitely an important game in the history of FPS games on consoles...but I don't want or need to play it again. I especially don't need to play it with what I'm going to assume is an incredibly awkward controller mapping like the majority of N64 games on Nintendo Switch Online.

@ydross said:

It shows how bad the loss was for the team for them to cancel making content 2 days in a row. They are clearly devastated too

I'm sure they took a psychological/emotional hit that will take time to recover from, but they also almost certainly have new logistical problems to sort out because they need to operate with one production focused team member instead of three.

Mod note: cleaned up profanity in the title because that's been a rule here since the Whiskey Media days, but I definitely sympathize with the frustration and agree with the sentiment.

Damn. He's been by far one of the highest profile drift/rally drivers in the past decade or more. Massive loss.

Great list and glad you found a good reason to include 13 Sentinels because it's still an incredible game.
