Jump Scare Moment
A method of attempting to scare the player by the sudden unexpected occurrence of an event - often accompanied by some sort of audio sting.

Resident Evil is notable for its use of jump scares.
The jump scare was made famous from the Resident Evil games by Capcom. The Resident Evil games contain jump scares like a zombie dog, mutant-like creatures known as Hunters, zombies, etc. crashing through windows, doors, and walls. This often occurs in areas the player has passed through several times before safely, when the jump scare comes into play this area suddenly becomes dangerous, for example when zombies reach through windows and attack the player.
