Flashbacks take a player into a flashback sequence. Often playable, but not always.

Flashbacks are a means of retelling parts of a past event, usually by a character remember the event in question. This is present in most forms of entertainment, from books to movies, video games notwithstanding. Flashbacks are usually accompanied with a greyscale screen filter and slow paced or melancholic background music. Dreams are an easy way of conveying a flashback, but they can be used and integrated in almost every circumstance imaginable.
