    Overview

    Flash Gordon is the eponymous character in the Flash Gordon franchise - consisting of comic strips, TV serials, films and games.

    First seen in 1934 as part of a Sci-Fi comic strip that was made to compete with Buck Rogers. Flash Gordon has appeared in multiple TV shows, radio shows, comic books, novels, video games and even had his own theme park ride.

    Originally written in the 1930's as a professional billiards player, he is abducted and imprisoned by Ming the Merciless and becomes an unlikely hero to save the universe.
