It's the holiday season, so what do you get for the community that has everything? If you knew me in real life, you'd know I don't buy into Xmas commercialism, and prefer to create gifts and artwork myself. I also really like eating turkey and sleeping until 2pm during my week off, so this is just a tad belated...
Over the last few months I've been playing a lot of New Vegas on 360 to clear my cache for Skyrim, and holiday Steam sales have let me and many others pick up PC copies of Fallout on the cheap for fun and modding. If you're not modding your Bethesda games, what the hell do you have a PC for? ;)
So I give to you duders, WMRD-FNV - Whiskey Media Radio Dave for Fallout: New Vegas. Let Radio Dave take your calls* and soothe your weary Courier spirit, as you while away the hours in the Mojave wasteland. Nothing against the Bombcast, but I'll happily put Radio Dave next to Mr. New Vegas any day!
UPDATE: v1.0 torrent link here. Working for me, but give it a little time. You can also direct download the full ZIP with audio, just the README,or just the ESP filewhich won't do you much good by itself, but there ya go. Possibly I'll put it on NewVegasNexus.com once I get more feedback that it works ok. This thread BTW is http://tinyurl.com/WMRD-FNV
All the details are in the archive README, but just so you know what you're getting, v1.0 is 4 radio shows from 2011 totaling almost 6 hours of audio: 29-July, 2-Sept, 7-Oct, 18-Nov. The full ZIP is ~340MB. The first few shows were archived by the community, but I haven't scrounged all of them yet. I'd really like to get ahold of more if you can help, particularly the one that Jeff and Ryan hosted while Dave was away. (I'm on it! lol)
Big thanks to Dave for being cool with the idea of this mod as a novelty. Because live radio shows are a subscriber feature, I certainly won't rush to update it with fresh podcasts, but I've set it up so you can also drop in your own, if you're visiting the Mojave right then. (...put a mod in yo mod, etc. etc.) Feel free to PM me with questions or bugs, and I will post any answers here as well. This mod isn't complex and should work straight up, if your version of FNV is properly patched. But of course I'm interested in hearing about any problems, if you're confident you installed it correctly.
Future plans:
- Feedback will determine if I spend any more time on this. Making it work in Fallout 3 should be trivial, but New Vegas is probably old enough at this point. (I don't let silly things like release dates determine when I buy and play games!!) Besides, the Bombcast seems more contextually appropriate for D.C. ;)
- For v1.1 I have put in hooks to allow intros, Station IDs, advertisements, etc. If you would like to see more done with it, I suggest you make a gentlemanly appeal to myself or Dave. Who knows, we might get some callout lines to work with in the next radio show? ;D
Thanks for reading this far, and happy new year duders!

*Please note that Radio Dave cannot actually take calls placed from a Pip-Boy 3000. RobCo software makes Skype crash. :(
