Overview
Arcade Classics Anniversary Collection (also known as Anniversary Collection: Arcade Classics) is an arcade game compilation developed by Konami (in conjunction with HAMSTER and Gotch) and published digitally by Konami for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on April 18, 2019.
One of the three games in Konami's Anniversary Collection games (the others being Castlevania Anniversary Collection and Contra Anniversary Collection) celebrating the company's 50th anniversary, Arcade Classics Anniversary Collection features eight games from their 1980's arcade library (seven of which are shoot-'em-ups):
The compilation received two regional releases: one with the Japanese versions of each game (for the Japan release) and one with the English versions of each game (for the worldwide release). A later update for each release added the other region's game versions (with the exception of Scramble and TwinBee, as they are the same in both releases) as extras. All games make use of the technology used in Hamster's Arcade Archives series.
In addition, the compilation includes a digital booklet called The History of Konami: Arcade Classics, featuring a chronology of Konami's arcade games in the 1980's, showcases of all eight games, translated design documents (including concept art and musical scores), and an interview with both Kengo Nakamura and Toshiaki Takatori.
