I'm a 37 year old parent who is heavily into gaming. My dad bought doom and doom 2 for himself on their release dates and played them heavily and it was my first intro into that type of gaming at around age 11.

My son is now 12 and is working on getting 100 % on breath of the wild. He loves indie titles like undertale and binding of Isaac. Most of his friends parents don't play games and as a kid myself my dad was the only dad who had a pc that was used mainly for gaming. He's not much into it anymore.

If it's a game that encourages exploring and there are rewards for doing I'm really patient. Yeah f it's mostly linear with some exploration thrown in for no reason and I don't know where to go for a while I usually put it down.

It doesn't really have a story so I don't think it should really be on there. The pvp was really weak too.

Played all 3. Witcher 3 is far and away my favorite of those and of this generation.

Most of the better games you will have to pay for. But there is still kind of a limited selection in that area as well. I got all the final fantasy remasters in the collection which includes 4 after years. I think it's 7 full games for 70 bucks which isn't too shabby for some great games. I hadn't played 2, 3 or 5 before so it was a real treat.

This will be good but not great. Like most rockstar games you have to love it to put time into it. I doubt it will have much in it to make me buy it at launch.

@undefined: I still buy hard copies here and there but it's pointless now since they take up the same amount of space on your system as it would if you had downloaded it.

I'm playing the first one now since it was on sale for $12 last week on Psn. I really dig it! I'll definitely get the sequel since it's supposed to be an improvement but I'll wait til I finish this one. It really reminds me of playing tabletop dnd with my nerdy friends in high school LOL.

I definitely don't have a set of rules regarding save states. I use them when I need to and treat them like the quicksaves and auto saves that are built into modern games. I can say I beat games that I wasn't able to in their original form because of save states. But I didn't beat those games because of frustration at poor level design glitches and dead drops. It was great to be able to back and plow through the nes and snes library with reckless abandon.
