@zevvion: I stopped playing destiny cause it was so mmo like when I thought it was just a sci fi shooter. Once I saw blue and purple gear and token exchanges and party queues I was outta there. I did one raid and I found it more enjoyable than wow raids but less mechanics involved i.e. We basically just shot at a huge boss until it died. Yes hardcore raiders think that newer raids have been made easier for more casual players but in truth they were simplified so developers could churn content out faster without having to do so many hot fixes and patches in the first week of that content's release. My problem with raids is you are forced to do them or you miss out on finishing things in the game. I'm kind of a completionist so it's very frustrating and I think a good solution would be an offline mode for raids where you can do it as single player content and it's still challenging but you don't have wait 5 hours for party formation, spec according to guild rules, crafting expensive flasks etc etc.

@generic_username: yes this is what I mean. I played wow for several years and there was always this barrier. I wanted to max professions and couldn't because raids. I wanted to bring a quest line to its conclusion but no you must raid. Ok queue for raid get in raid wipe 100 times and be angry. Rinse and repeat. I had fun in wow I got every mount and was in a guild and cleared a bit of content during wotlk and cata xpacs until the guild disbanded. Never found quality guilds again and was tired of being told how I had to spec and build my character in a game that was supposed to promote player choice over anything else.

Hi everyone. Sorry about the ADHD thing. I have ADHD and most of the ppl I played wow with acted like me so I assumed they had it as well. I have no alternative planned out for raids but every time I want to go back to mmos I remember how horrible doing raids in wow and ff xiv were and I stop myself from going back. I loved those world in those games and miss them but I'm not gonna pay to waste 100s of hours to make to no progress in a game. It just seems like there should be a better way but there probably isn't.

Seriously though. You'd think they would have evolved the mmo space past this trash by now. It is the most frustrating thing in gaming to collect over 10 ADHD riddled gamers together online at the same time with no connection issues, lag and otherwise bad play on someone's part that ruins the entire thing you may have spent hours or weeks to prepare for? Isn't it time mmo players demanded better?
