Initially the FOV seemed insanely narrow to me too, but after watching some more videos and I think it's just how big the player's hands are on screen making it feel very claustrophobic. It feels like the player is holding their hands like 6 inches from their face and the constant exaggerated bobbing of the left hand when moving drives me nuts.

Does anyone know if you can "put away" your left hand or are you always carrying something?

Ah this sucks, but I wish Dan luck.

I loved almost everything that Dan started at GB and he's responsible for my favorite pieces of GB content in the last several years, which are the Mario Party Parties.

Abby's moment of pure elation at figuring out the 20 questions answer was hilarious.

FWIW, I just put a 1TB SSD in my PS4 Pro and it made a very nice difference.

It doesn't make it PC load times quick or anything, but it did make a noticeable difference in games that have long initial loads, Spiderman in particular, as well as patch and install times.

You can get a good 1TB SSD for around $100 now. It's obviously questionable whether it's worth sinking any money into upgrading a PS4 at this point, but in my case I paid for it by cashing in my change jar (yay for Coinstars giving you 100% value if you get Amazon credit), so it's basically like it was free :)

I was not familiar with Ron, but he could not have endeared himself to me any faster than by giving the crew shit for their GOTY choices :)

@haneybd87: Good to know. I've been pondering getting a new SSD for my PC and sticking my old one in my PS4 Pro. Doesn't do much for load times, but I have seen reports that it helps with content streaming in some games. Maybe it will sort this game out if Respawn can't via patches.

Digital Foundry uploaded their analysis. It's a good watch.

They mentioning not running into the stutters all that often on a PS4 Pro and XBox One X, but also that they saw some variation even on the same console depending on how junked up the hardrive was.

I'd be super interested to see what, if any affect an SSD would have in the upgraded consoles.

My main takeaway from this is that "Performance modes" that run uncapped but inconsistent framerates below 60fps suck. Sounds like running "Quality" at a more consistent 30fps is the way to go over constant variation between 30-60fps.

I'm totally on board with Mike's opinion of Link's Awakening.

I had fun with it, but it's a simple game, has indie game production values and absolutely does not justify a $60 price point. It should have been $30 at most. I haven't felt so ripped off in a long time and I bought it digitally so I can't even trade it in :\

This implications of this French ruling are insane. Should you also be able to resell MP3s and movies that you bought on iTunes or similar services? What about paid phone apps for that matter?

If this ruling doesn't apply to literally every digital good it's unfair to Valve. If it does apply to every digital good, the amount of things that are going to have to change is crazy.

If that goes through, I imagine they'll just change everything to a "service" to get around it. $60 no longer purchases a game, it's getting you a 100 year rental for $0.60 a year :)
