Regarding VR: Several of my friends got Oculus Rifts when they went on sale, so I got to try one out. I wear glasses and cannot wear contacts. The headset was exceptionally uncomfortable wearing over glasses.

I very briefly looked into getting prescription lens inserts, but the quality of available options seemed spotty and it also seemed like sinking even more money into a product that would soon be outdated. I rightly assumed that there'd be little to no chance the a follow up headset would have the same form factor and be able to fit the same lenses.

A problem with VR has been and continues to be lack of standards. There needs to be standardized controls and a standardized solution for prescription lenses that a person could take from headset to headset.

@brad: Might be worth putting that as a note on the video. Just a nice little "hey heads up, frame rate issues are capture related, not in game". Because I noticed is frequently dropping frames and thought to myself "wow they really screwed up on this one" until I saw your post.

PS I'm super curious to hear about battery life on the controller. I've replaced the battery on every PS4 controller I own with 2000mah upgrades because the stock battery life was so terrible.

My home isn't suitable for this, but I'm one of like 5 people who still goes into an office sized for 100+ people and I'm tempted to get this for use there. Ultimately though, without people to play with, I doubt it would hold my interest for more than 2 hours.

More than anything what bugs me about this is the limited time aspect. This is how Nintendo gets people to pay $60 for 3 lackluster ports/emulations: FOMO. Otherwise, anyone sensible would just wait until it goes on sale, even if Nintendo puts first part stuff on sale extremely infrequently.

It's disgusting, but what's more disgusting is that it works because this apparently already sold extremely well :\

The fruit in Fall Guys has intentional seams modeled into them to suggesting that they are inflatables and not real fruit. So the debate continues. I thought this was a cool little detail to make them what you'd see if this was a real world game show.

I got my first crown the other night, which is the first time I've won any kind of battle royal style game. Now, I am never going to play the game again :)

I trust that this game is hard, but Jeff (G) killed it. Might be setup related...

This is the first I've heard of that Hardspace: Shipbreaker game. This was notable to me because I'm a Homeworld fan and where I remember "Shipbreaker" from, at least in game terms, is "Hardware: Shipbreakers"the game developed by some ex-Relic people that eventually went onto become "Homeworld: Shipbreakers" and then finally "Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak" when Gearbox (who had acquired the Homeworld rights from THQ) decided the publish the game. Well, as it turns out, Hardspace: Shipbreaker is from that same team/developer! It's unclear whether it's officially set in the Homeworld universe (which probably wouldn't be all that meaningful since it's not a story driven game anyway), but there are some definite style similarities with the ship designs.

If the adds are going to get more aggressive, then GB needs to find a solution for making the premium podcast available on the Apple Podcast app.

I usually listen to the normal version despite being a premium subscriber simply because the Podcast app is the most convenient way to get it. However, for the first time, I started to get annoyed by the ads.

---Update---

Nevermind, I discovered how you do this. It's not intuitive.

Best dream sequence in game: Need for Speed: Underground.

This game starts with a dream sequence that basically serves as an abilitease where you have a good car and get to race a bit at the high speeds the game will eventually reach, before you start the game proper with a entry level car and low speeds.

Full disclosure though, Most Wanted (original one) started the same way, but in that case it was a flashback, not a dream.

Logarius was very difficult for me, I had to summon to beat him. Afterward, I returned the favor and was a friendly summon like 20 times with very little waiting. So definitely a common boss to summon for.
