gotta say a pretty good list , clearly alot of ppl have good taste this past year . its nice to see hi-fi rush break into the top 10 on both guests and community
@marino: Weird to know now that I am the only WarTales pervert in these forums.
Thank you for your work in getting everything GOTY together!
i liked what i played of wartales alot , but i didn't play enough to even think about it for the running . i played it for 1 sitting in nov., seems great tho
praise pipo that was a solid list with some suprise entries . particularly coral island , i put a solid chunk of time into it a few weeks ago and its got solid bones even if its clearly unfinished dispite the 1.0 release and bugs. bg3 is also my goty , i agree i haven't felt that way about a world since witcher 3
i forgot Theatrhythm Bar Line came out this yr ... its been packed with too many solid-great games , but i'd just like to say the idea of an entry based around yuzo koshiro's music would indeed be amazing , i really do love his work. that said all n all great list i realy should start listening to 8-4play again , i always loved it but fell off during early pandemic due to the issue of 'too many podcasts'
i too have put and obscene amount of hours into yakuza's mahjong minigame ... as someone who replayed played 3-6 after beating ishin on the leadup to gaiden i can only imagine how many hours i spent climbing to the top in each entry this yr .
@bludgeonparagon: i think you might be right honestly .. personally its my #3 but its been so long since i played it that alot of the reasons why i liked it so much are overshadowed by recent releases , for me i've learned to keep a running list and just slot things in based on enjoyment at the time of beating it ... things get pretty muddy after a handful cause certain types of games shouldn't be compared to others for Reasons but i'd like to think my way helps with things like that
great list abby .. your not the only one to find TOTK disappointing . for me i really just didn't care about the building aspect they added , it was cool but not for me , and if you tke that away its alot of the same in a mostly same map with like you said sorta lackluster other maps added . the story was Fine but i really wish nintendo wouldd just do better at this point , the structure /pacing for it is pretty disjointed as well.
Great list And perspective. as someone who finds themselves enjoying less AAA games these days and more indie games for alot of the reasons mentioned i'll have to check out a few of these that hadn't been on my radar , they all seem cool in their own way. of the ones i played tho that are here they've been great i'd agree , currently against the storm also has its hooks in me , sitting at shy of 82 hours since starting 2 weeks ago
a bit behind on dumptruck but i just wanna ad to the coaster talks... ignore the cork .. silicone coasters don't slide around a bunch like some , and if you get the felt ones they absorb the water so that the condenstion isn't an issue . i got these standard plain black ones for my desk pretty cheap and they've been great .. even moreso when a cofee drips cause the felt soaks up the mess and you can just pop them in the dishwasher to get cleaned later .
@janman or @danryckert look up 'Barvivo Silicone Coasters for Drinks - Set of 8 Modern Bar Coasters with Removable Felt Pad' on amazon , they're pretty great and have a few colors if i recall
the whittling is fine , but this yr i feel like due to the format n rush the discussions are pretty lacking for alot of these smaller games or less big obvious titles.
