PCPartPicker.com is good for telling you compatibility information, it also has build guides by price. TomsHardware.com is good for telling you best picks, and what is good for the money. It doesn't really matter which one is BEST, just best for the money when on a budget. I would recommend copying exactly someone else's confirmed good build if you're worried about picking the wrong thing. Copy the parts exactly that they spent a bunch of time selecting so you don't have to. I would stay away from small form factor cases your first time out and do a large ATX case with lots of room in there. (ATX is one of the case size standards.)
It's a project though, no two ways about it. If you don't want a weekend project, I would recommend buying a pre-built. It would be cheaper to buy all the parts and assemble your own but not THAT much cheaper, and you are your own support.
He lists off so many incidents that in my mind these things are not a fluke but a wide-spread problem. He interviewed three dozen current and former employees. Sometimes these things are hard to prove, but honestly, my view on sexual harassment allegations is where there is smoke there is fire. There are just too many examples for this not to be a widespread problem.
It's like HR had a complaint box that went straight into the shredder!
As annoying as hardware exclusives are, Sony has been really killing it the last few years in the exclusives department. If they keep releasing games like Last of Us and God of War (what I call the high-production-value Action Adventure genre) then I will reluctantly buy a PS5, but I think this time I will be a late adopter because I'm on PC 80% of the time.
Randy Pitchford should definitely win, HOWEVER, he is a magician, and experience dictates that you should DEFINITELY not mess with magicians. Nominate at your own risk, lol.
Do you like space alien movies? What if I told you there was a space alien movie that was ALL UNDERWATER!!!
Haha, I like to think that was their elevator pitch for The Abyss. But this movie is really great, and holds up except for the pre-CG glowy alien puppets. (This is different than the actual CG water column face thing). Unfortunately they never released an HD version, so we're all stuck with the DVD version. (2 disc formats ago! Come ON!) Perhaps James Cameron is a control freak and would need to do a new Abyss release "his way".
I bought it day one for $60. I thought, "It's Bethesda, they're one of the best studios right?" Wow, was I wrong. My hangup is not the standard "it's not single player Fallout 5". I was always fine with me to see what they did with an online multiplayer game. My problem with it, is that I feel they launched it VERY undercooked, and still charged full price for it. It's not just buggy, but content-incomplete and feature-incomplete. It needed another year in the oven. They didn't launch Fallout 76 so much as try to GET AWAY with Fallout 76!
It has the worse type of repeatable MMO daily quests. The game encourages collecting things for crafting, while also punishing you with a small item cap. They apparently have to limit the number of items on each server for weird game engine reasons.
Perhaps they can turn it around if they keep adding content for another six months, but they have really tarnished their reputation with me. All excitement for future Bethesda releases is gone. I learned my lesson to never pre-order anything ever, even from reputable studios. Just pump the brakes on the hype train, and take the cautious-optimism approach.
I like Splinter Cell but I think they have to go where the sales take them, and I heard that the last Splinter Cell 'underperformed'. I hope they can improve on Wildlands. It was ok, but the characters were really lame. I found my AI squadmates annoying. I heard the phrase "and baby makes three" about 50 times. The enemy bosses in the game were forgettable.
