Are Overkill and FatShark Double-A studios? Is Vermintide a Double-A game? Not that it matters, it's just semantics, but I enjoyed Vermintide 1, and was shocked to discover that the same company made the illustrious Escape Dead Island! Seems like they have really gotten their act together since then.

I bought this and have played it for over 50 hours. I definitely like it a lot more than Jeff. I can't recommend it at full price, but if you give it a few months, the price will drop and all of the coming features and maps will be added, and THAT will be the ideal time to check it out. Even more annoying than a $10 save slot, is the $10 slots for extra expedition teams. You can send out teams to collect resources for you, and you get one slot for free, but there are 5 more slots to unlock. That's FIFTY dollars just for this one tent in your base to collect you copper and sensor units! There is a suit at Konami that is insane if they think people are going to pay for that.

I have actually been having fun with Metal Gear Survive. It probably depends on how tolerant you are personally of the standard busywork in survival/crafting games. I think I tolerate it way more than Jeff it sounds like. Is it as good as MGS 5? No. Is it decent? That's a good word for it. Not great, but just decent. One thing I have been noticing recently is this: Horde Mode + Loot Game = Wild Imbalances in Difficulty. I have seen this in The Division, in Fortnite (non-battle royale), and now in Metal Gear Survive. There's just no way to balance the wave difficulty when in a loot game because it's always way to easy, or impossible, it seems like.

Thank you for this land-based video of this space-based game.

It seems like a chore in the way that most survival games can be a chore, for example, surviving the winter in Don't Starve, but the rewarding thing about it is the feeling of conquering it, and progressing to some nice gear, and a kitted out base. Also, the idea of rescuing survivors who then work at the base is pretty cool.

If you like survival/crafting games at all, this one is the king. It's the best, and most polished. I have played Rust, Ark, The Forest, The Long Dark, Osiris, Don't Starve, etc, and Subnautica is the most polished, and matured. Also, they have probably managed to make the coolest video game vehicle ever made, the Cyclops submarine.

@pmurph03: which online store is that? Seems like a great idea to have them test everything.
