Imagine Agent Reyes saying, "Come to Dragonsreach to discuss the recent hostilities, like the rest of the great men?" It may remind you of where you heard that voice before.

So that's where I heard it! I was trying to figure out why this guy sounded like an Norwegian pretending to be an American doing an Hispanic accent.

It hurts to say as a Mass Effect super fan, but this review is very fair.

I have been trying to get into the game for the past week and while I have been generally enjoying my time, when I find an actual main mission or side mission that actually allows me to do fun, Mass Effecty stuff, I can't say that it has been smooth sailing. I have had quite a few glitches and bugs (XBox One is my platform) including one where I got an email about a character that I hadn't recruited to my team yet. Spoilers, Bioware! Jeesum Crow... Luckily, nothing has been game breaking, just really annoying. No Bioware game that I have played, and I've played a bunch, has had this little polish straight out of the gate. It feels rushed, and that really stinks.

I got that one too. I also got one later in the game where the email directly contradicted an action that I had just taken and another one where a dead character emailed me.

* There's a quest on Elaaden where Lexi wants you to immunize these dudes with a serum she created but asks that you get consent first. The guy I talked to refused the inoculation and then I got an email from Lexi saying, in essence "thank God that guy agreed to get the shot!"

* On the pirate station, I sided with Reyes, which ends up with Sloane getting sniped. I then later received an email from Sloane thanking me for help on a previous quest. Even though she was dead.

There's just so many things about this game that show a general lack of attention to detail. That sort of started in ME3, but it's really on display here. I'm sure there's a really interesting story about what happened during the development of this game. I hope it comes out one day because I can't imagine something like this getting released without some serious behind the scenes drama going on.

I can't help but think this would be better if they replaced Alan Watts with Apocalypse Now Dennis Hopper.

Here is the comparison video between the leaked footage in 2016 and final build. I'd be curious to know what went on at Bioware Montreal behind the doors.

What went on is the game fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.

Everything about this looks depressingly mediocre.

The Bomb Squad always complain about inventory management in games and 9 times out of 10 I couldn't disagree more.

I don't think it's always bad but BOTW is definitely just lacking some really fundamental features to make it a positive thing.

I don't automatically hate inventory management, but so many games can't be bothered to even put in the most basic convenience features. Things like sorting, marking things as junk, sell all, etc. should be included in every inventory system, period. And yet a ton of games can't do this right.

I'm playing through Horizon right now and while it's generally really good, every time I have to interact with the inventory and menus I start to genuinely hate the game.
