I voted "On occasion," though the reality is it's far, far less than I did when I was younger. There are still a few "comfort food" games that I'll go back to, that are nostalgic for me personally because of where I was at in my life when I originally played them. Mostly I find myself playing these when there's nothing new out in my favorite genres, or when I get frustrated and rage-quit a newer game.

Some of those are: The Legend of the Dragoon (~8 runs), Final Fantasy Tactics (all of them, but mostly the original, like 7 runs), and the original Mass Effect trilogy (particularly ME1, I must have like 10 runs of that one). I've also got 500+ hours in Fallout New Vegas and nearly 600 in Civ VI, but that's not so much replaying as continually returning to.

As I've gotten less time, I've really started questioning the value of spending my limited gaming time on stuff I've already seen dozens of times before, and pushing myself toward new experiences. It's still a strong pull, though, to just settle in with a game that's like an old friend.

So according to Twitter, Valve is apparently yanking 100% content-compliant non-pornographic visual novels from sale on steam because they now suddenly are violating the content guidelines. Needless to say indie visual novel devs are highly distressed. Story is still developing

UPDATE:

UPDATE 2: In related news, two of the publishers whose games where threatened have now announced they are bringing their catalogs to GOG.

@uhtaree: We have a TV ratings system in the US. South Park is rated TV-MA, which is equivalent to R for movies. Beavis and Butthead, however, is TV-14 which is roughly a PG-13.

Things I wasn't allowed to watch as a kid: Beavis and Butthead, Ren and Stimpy, the Simpsons, or any R-rated movie.

Basically, mom didn't want me to be overly scarred by something, but more importantly, she didn't want me to repeat anything embarrassing or politically incorrect at school. I went to a religious private school, though, so I'm sure that played a part in that.

@bisonhero: This was a big complaint about what was wrong with Mass Effect Andromeda's dialogue. The duders even noticed it, things like Vetra's introduction reading just like a Twitter bio. It just makes it feel like all the writers are under 30 or something. Completely yanks me out of the game when a distant future colonization mission sounds like something Joss Whedon wrote early in his career. It's far from the only problem with that game's writing (the plot is a shambles as well), but the dialogue is the most consistently obnoxious.

My sister's cat fell out of a window from the fourth or fifth floor (not sure how people are counting here but to me the ground-floor is not the 1st floor, might be a translation thing).

In US English, the first and ground floors are equivalent (not sure about UK/AUS). We don't do zero-numbered floors.

I buy a lot of used games because of lower cost (thanks to my Gamestop membership), and those are all physical. I often buy new releases physically as well, because I still feel like they install faster from the disc, especially when the servers are trashed on launch day. That also leaves me the option to resell later on (though I rarely actually do that).

I will get a game digitally if the deal is really good, but my problem is I tend to forget what I own already if I've got digital games that aren't installed. Looking at an actual shelf gives me a better idea of what I've got. Call me old fashioned.
