I dropped the Tales series after they started getting weird with the kid characters. They were already on thin ice with the sexploitation characters, so I kinda just stopped looking at them. I watched the anime and that one was.. Fine I guess.

I rushed to get here as soon as I saw Countdown Vampires. Holy shit, what a perfect assembly of garbage you got for us today!

You pretty much nailed it. I can't believe anyone still remembers Countdown Vampires, but I'm even more shocked that a team sat down and made the entire nonsensical thing in the first place. It's an art piece, in the same way that one guy who put a urinal in a museum is art.

Also nailed it on Corpse Party. It's pretty much 'Every Shithead With An Anime Avatar You've Met Online'. And while I, personally, respect its proto-trash status, I can totally understand why no one else would want to touch it. I don't think I've seen more than a good hour of it, before having my fill.

I have written books worth of tweets that I deleted as soon as I dotted the last period. I used to be a lot more gung ho about it, but I also hate getting replies that I think are the dumbest thing I've ever read, so I'm okay with not having an opinion instead.

I have many, but I feel like a lot of them would be games people didn't know existed the first time around.

So my go-to answer would be Gladius. Especially in the current world where Fire Emblem fucked up their soup, I miss that game a great deal.

That's an era that is absolutely buckwild to split that way. The difference between just those few years is ginormous. Like, the same era that has Vagrant Story or Crash Bash also has Grand Theft Auto IV or Demon's Souls!

I have no idea how you would compare those giant rifts.

If I were to choose one, of course, it's Dark Chronicle, one of the best games ever made.

Notable others would skew mostly around the 2001-2004 era, when video games peaked. It's all infinite growth and online hooks after that.

Using your platform of millions for transphobic propaganda is actual violence. JK Rowling's words lead to direct violence against trans people. Violence, real world violence, towards trans people has been steadily rising, due to transphobic rhetoric.

@atheistpreacher: Hogwarts will release on Switch, which easily outsells every platform, is also on PS4 and Xbox One. I can guarantee you, without a doubt, there will be pleeeenty of physical copies of it there for grandma to get little Laura for Easter. These self-made problems have easy solutions. The group that has AND only a PS5 AND got the digital version AND absolutely must play Hogwarts is likely incredibly small. My heart goes out to those 2% of people. I hope they find the will to go on.

I'm nonbinary and I'll probably, maybe, play this at some point. Or rather, I own a metric ton of licensed games and this is that genre. I own 4 Harry Potter games and at least two of those early games are really good!

What I don't understand is why people are so torn on playing it right NOW? For €70? Publicly? That's more telling to me than anything else, because I will literally never see that for any other licensed bullshit, whether it's fucking Paw Patrol or Lord of the Rings.

To me, that says more about identity wars and having a compulsive need to show that you're still in that relevant group. I think that's fucking trash. There is no way to me, a huge nerd, that someone thinks liking Harry Potter is more important than supporting trans people. All for some licensed cashgrab that's gonna be just okay. There isn't a property on this planet that will make me froth at the mouth hard enough. You could release Half-Life 3 tomorrow and if Gabe says there are only two genders, they can shove it up their valve.

Anyway, the game will still be available six months from now, when no one gives a shit anymore and you don't have to announce that you feel soooo bad for playing it.

Also: buying it secondhand is an option. I buy a lot of garbage I don't want to support secondhand. They still do that. Or do play it, but then also stop kicking your feet. You don't actually give a fuck about Avalanche Soft; they were making Disney Infinity before this. Come on now.
