The franchise consists of the 5 games that Evolution Studios developed for the PS2, as well as the upcoming Black Bean developed WRC game in 2010.

The officially licensed WRC games spanned 5 years from the 2001 season, to the 2005 season here and were developed by Evolution Studios.   After the fith WRC game, series developer Evolution Studios stopped making WRC games, and moved onto making a new IP:Motorstorm. However, the official WRC license has been bought by Polyphony to use the official WRC cars and tracks in Gran Turismo 5 (Game), as well as Black bean purchasing the lisence to create the next official WRC game for the 2010 season.
