Australian actress who played the Pink Ranger in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

Overview

Catherine Jane Sutherland (real name Catherine Jane Chilson), is an Australian actress, her most famous role being that of the Pink Ranger, Kat, in three seasons and iterations of the Power Rangers TV show. She played the role from 1995-97, replacing the former Pink Ranger, Kimberley (portrayed by Amy Jo Johnson).

Power Rangers

Sutherland took on the role of the new Pink Ranger, Katherine Hillard, known as Kat, in the third season of the show (still known as Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) in 1995. She was only the second Power Ranger to be played by a non-american actress. She continued the role into seasons four and five, known as Power Rangers: Zeo, and Power Rangers: Turbo, respectively, and also appeared in Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie, the second and final movie in the franchise. Since leaving the main cast, Sutherland stayed on to lend her vocal talents to the show.

Role in Video Games

Interestingly, Sutherland does not feature in either of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers games, with the first being released in 1994, prior to her arrival on the show, as such featuring Amy Jo Johnson's Pink Ranger, Kimberley, and the second game featuring only Megazords and large characters, as opposed to the Rangers themselves. She did, however, lend her vocal talents to the character Mira in Pitfall 3D: Beyond the Jungle. This remains her only video game appearance to date.
