Hollywood producer and Screenwriter best known for working with Michael Bay and JJ Abrams
Alex Kurtzman is a producer and screenwritrer, known in the first half of his career his work with co-writer Roberto Orci (Person). The pair made a name for themselves writing the Micheal Bay Transformers series. After this their draft of the J.J. Abrams Star Trek movie was rewritten by Damon Lindelof, who received credit only as "producer" due to guild legalities. After the poor critical reception to Star Trek Into Darkness, Abrams moved on as director. Orci pitched a concept for the third film with himself as director but Paramount declined and he moved on as well. This ended the long partnership between Kurtzman and Orci, who started going their separate ways. Kurtzman however stayed with the Trek franchise longer than anyone else in modern times, being the primary showrunner on Discovery and first two seasons of Picard. Both the modern Trek shows were developed by different showrunners early on but the corporation always replaces them with Kurtzman by the time they air. in 2021 Kurtsman finally decided to step away from Star Trek and Terry Matalas replaced him as showrunner of Picard season 3. <span>He, Orci and Abrams are the creators of the FOX TV show Fringe.</span>
