The Y-Wing is the Rebel Alliance's space bomber. The ship is able to dish out large amounts of damage with its lasers, torpedoes, and Ion Cannons. Also unlike its Imperial equivalent the Tie Bomber, the Y-Wing features shield generators.

The Y-Wing may not have the speed of the X-Wing or the A-Wing, but it is capable of inflicting major damage on enemy capital ships so long as it can be defended from interceptor craft. The armor is extensive and the shields will protect the pilot from just about anything, which is good because it won't be going anywhere fast. The Y-Wing also features Ion Cannons which are capable of disabling ships once their shields have been taken down, allowing them to be captured.
