A small hidden wire that can trigger a trap or alarm.
A trip wire is a length of wire that typically runs across a hallway. When broken by the force of being walked on, it either releases a trap or triggers an alarm. As well as being made from wire, trip wires can be laser beams that trigger when crossed.
