TNT Crate
One of the crates found in the Crash franchise. It takes three seconds to explode once activated.
Overview
The TNT crate is found in the Crash Bandicoot (Franchise) series. Unlike the Nitro crate which was introduced later, the TNT crate must be jumped on to activate its three-second countdown until explosion. If the crate is spun, it will explode instantly.
In Gameplay
The TNT crate was intended as an obstacle that needed detonating in order to obtain the gem, this meant that the player couldn't avoid TNT's completely whilst playing the game. TNT's were also usually found in stacks of crates to provide a challenge in getting the desired items out of other crates without causing Crash to die. TNT's were usually used as part of the platforming in bonus levels.
