Godzilla (1954)
The oxygen destroyer, invented by Dr. Serizawa in 1954, has been the only device to have truly killed off Godzilla. However, the instructions on how the oxygen destroyer was made were all burned by Dr. Serizawa, so that he could prevent anyone from using his work as a weapon against humankind. He made sure to further prevent the device from falling into the wrong hands by committing suicide at the end of the film, just after he had used it to kill Godzilla.
Godzilla vs. Destoroyah (1995)
The oxygen destroyer used in 1954 is believed to have now awoken microscopic crustaceans from the Precambrian era. These tiny creatures eventually grow into the powerful Destoroyah.
