The M-23 Katana is a shotgun from Mass Effect 2. It is the default shotgun.

Overview

The M-23 Katana is the default shotgun in Mass Effect 2. It is usable once the player starts the Freedom's Progress mission. It is a semi-automatic shotgun.

==Stats ==

 The M-23 Katana has a 10 rounds, and 5 rounds per clip.  Through  player driven tests, It has been determined that it  has a a  base DPS  of 85 damage per second. According to an     official post   on the Bioware  forums, it does 1.5 extra damage to shields and  barriers.  This makes it an effective weapon against enemies with shields (such as Geth) or barriers (such as Collectors).
