A device in Chrono Trigger that allows its user to open time gates.
Overview
The Gate Key is a device in Chrono Trigger (Game) that is invented by Lucca (Character) shortly after Crono (Character) follows Marle (Character) through time using the teleporter at the fairgrounds. It is able to interact with and open time gates scattered around the world, though the user has no control over where each gate leads. It is also the only method of time travel available to the player prior to acquiring the Epoch (Object).
