A weapon from the game Heretic. The Mace is actually a ranged weapon that fires metal orbs which bounce around and eventually explode.
Despite maces normally being close-range melee weapons, the Firemace is a magically enhanced weapon that shoots exploding metal orbs called "Mace Spheres." The spheres bounce around until they contact an enemy and explode. The Spheres will also disappear if they come in contact with water. When enhanced by a Tome of Power, the Firemace launches huge metal orbs that seek enemies and will kill any non-boss creature in a single hit. Maximum ammo capacity is 150, or 300 with a Bag of Holding.
