Dive Ball
The Dive Ball is a special Poké Ball that works better when used in or on water. It was introduced in Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire and appears in later games as well.
Overview
In Ruby/Sapphire and Emerald, the Dive Ball works best in underwater areas, reached with the HM move Dive. In later games, it has the same benefits if used while surfing or fishing.

Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald
In Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald the Dive Ball can be purchased at the Mossdeep City (Location) Pokemart. The Dive Ball can also be obtained in the abandoned ship.
Diamond/Pearl/Platinum
In Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum the Dive Ball can be found on Route 223 or at the Pokemon News Press in Solaceon Town.
Heart Gold/Soul Silver
In Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver the Dive Ball can be obtained using the Pokewalker.
Black/White
In Pokemon Black and White the Dive Ball can be found in the following locations:
- Cold Storage (while using the Dowsing Machine.)
- Wellspring Cave
- Village Bridge
The Dive Ball may also be purchased in Undella Town.
Black 2/White 2
In Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 the Dive Ball can be found on Route 17 and the Seaside Cave. The Dive Ball may also be purchased in Undella Town and Humilau City.
X/Y
In Pokemon X and Y the Dive Ball can be found in the following locations:
- Route 16
- Azure Bay
- Ambrette Town
Alternatively the Dive Ball may also be purchased in the Poké Ball Boutique in Lumiose City.
