A household appliance that is used to remove the water from a load of clothing.
Overview
A clothes dryer is a machine for drying damp articles of clothing after they have been through a washing machine. Most clothes dryers consist of a horizontal rotating barrel in which the clothes are loaded. As the clothes are tumbled in the dryer, the machine circulates heated air through holes in the barrel. Most dryers include a timer dial and several pre-set temperature settings.
Safety Issues
Most dryers will trap clothing lint that falls through the holes in the barrel. As this lint builds up in the lint trap, it has the potential to overheat and start small lint fires inside the dryer. It is recommended to clear the lint trap before using a dryer in order to avoid this fire hazard.
