Cestus
A type of glove worn in battle. Used to increase damage dealt by a punch, similar to brass knuckles.
While a gauntlet is worn primarily to protect the users hand, a cestus applies the same concept to offense. Worn like a glove, this weapon is meant to improve effectiveness in hand to hand combat. The original form of boxing gloves, though it served the opposite purpose.
