Overview
In Liu Kang (Character)'s reset timeline, the Tarkatans are not a race of people. Tarkat is a contagious disease that mutates anyone who contracts it. At the first sign of becoming a tarkatan, those people are banished to the wastelands of Outworld (Location). Many have built a colony here is the desert in an attempt to survive. The colony is led by Baraka (Character), who was previously a highly regarded merchant in Sun Do (Location).
