The world is made up of locations from a few segments of Fantasia. Each location uses a re-done version of the piece related to location that plays straight through regardless of being in battle or not. Staying true to the original film on which it is based, voice clips are not used (except in cutscenes) and Keyblade (Object) hits use musical instrument sounds.

Trivia
The developers were originally going to have Sora go to the original Fantasia and Riku to Fantasia 2000 but ultimately chose to only do the original Fantasia.
