Star Road is a bonus area in Super Mario World with extra levels. It also plays an important part in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.

Overview
Star Road connects several areas in Super Mario World (Game), providing shortcuts once the levels on Star Road are beaten. The shortcuts are located in Donut Plains, Vanilla Dome, Soda Lake, Forest of Illusion, and Bowser Valley. Additionally, the Special World can be accessed via a secret Star Road. The levels in Special World are more difficult than other levels in the game.
In Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, it is the place where all wishes are turned into stars before they are granted. Smithy (Character) destroys Star Road, smashing into seven star pieces that Mario (Character) and company have to collect. It is Geno (Character)'s mission to repair Star Road. The wish-granting aspect of the stars is expanded in Paper Mario (Franchise), though the Road is now called Star Haven.
Star Road also appears as an alternative path to the Star Cup in Mario Sports Mix (Game). Completing missions on Star Road creates a big star for players to go through, sending them back to the normal tourney for the final match.
