Sirius Sector
A group of star systems, and the setting of the free roaming space-simulation Freelancer. Settled 800 years before the start of the game by humans fleeing from the Sol System.

==History == 800 years before the story of Freelancer begins, two factions, the Alliance and the Coalition,[1] were engaged in a civil war encompassing our own solar system. Knowing their loss to be certain, the Alliance placed it's people into stasis pods, which were housed on giant sleeper ships. These ships were directed towards the Sirius System.
==Rule == Four groups hold the majority of power within the Sirius System. They are each named after the sleeper ship that brought them to the system and bear the cultures of their terrestrial ancestors: Liberty- The United States of America (Location) Bretonia- Britain Rheinland- Germany (Location) Kusari- Japan (Location) There was one other sleeper ship, The Hispania. Unfortunately it was sabotaged and the ship went drastically off course. The survivors of the incident became pirates, known as the Corsairs.
