The people of Malaysia celebrates National Day which falls on 31st August, (just like you Americans' Fourth of July). It all began after the country gained independence in 31/8/1957 (if you Americans don't understand we write our date like this: day/month/year as opposed to your standard date: month/day/year and also just like you guys' July 4 1776)
